Appalachian State University is seeking an Executive in Residence for Aviation Risk Management. The successful candidate will engage in teaching and lead the development of aviation management programming while maintaining strong professional relationships.

Responsibilities

Provide evidence of an ongoing commitment to excellence in student instruction and engagement and maintain strong relationships with professional organizations

Teach 12 credit hours per semester and serve on department, college, and university committees

Lead design and implementation of aviation management programming at App State’s Hickory campus

Collaborate with the college and department to develop academic program(s) in aviation risk management and related disciplines

Required

Ph.D. or master's degree in risk management and insurance, finance, economics, management or an aviation-related field from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g., AACSB if degree is from a college of business) by the start of employment

Candidates should demonstrate a record of high-quality teaching along with evidence of high-quality industry professional engagement and/or academic experience in aviation-related risk management, insurance, finance or accounting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this position
