Responsibilities
Learn and execute grain accounting processes, including contracts, settlements, inventory management, and ERP system workflows
Assist with general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
Support the monthly and annual close processes with accuracy and attention to detail
Participate in audit preparation and coordination
Collaborate daily with remote accounting team members and cross-functional staff, including grain operations and merchandising teams
Identify and help implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy
Grow into expanded responsibilities over time, including payroll and benefits administration
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of financial accounting experience with strong foundational accounting skills
Highly proficient in Excel and capable of working within a complex ERP environment (experience beyond QuickBooks is essential)
Strong problem-solving abilities; a self-starter with initiative, determination, and a love of learning
Ability to thrive in a smaller, multi-location company with a collaborative, team-oriented culture
Comfortable working with both accounting and non-accounting functions
Preferred
CPA preferred, not required
