Escondido Union School District is seeking a Substitute ELPAC Testing Assistant for a temporary on-call position. The role involves administering language proficiency tests to English language learners, evaluating test responses, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

Using the designated, standardized testing battery, administers language proficiency tests (both virtually and in person) in English to students having a native language other than English or who are identified as English language learners

Reads scripted instructions to students; evaluates test responses (test formats may include holistic scoring and transcription of oral responses and story telling) and records results

Electronically records personal data such as name, age, address, grade level, etc

Electronically completes all required forms for testing documentation

Graduation from High School or equivalent

Previous experience working as paraeducator or test proctor in a school, or similar, setting

Benefits

Employee service credit shall be added to the final composite scores in an open examination for regular employees of and those on re-employment lists for Escondido Union School District.

After one year of service, regular classified employees may earn additional salary increments for improving skills through continuing education.

All new employees who work four hours or more must become members of the California Public Employees Retirement System and the Federal Social Security program; contributions are made towards this by both the District and employees.

SICK LEAVE - Regular full time twelve-month employees shall earn 12 days paid sick leave for each year of service. Unused full pay sick leave may be accumulated without limit. Sick leave will be prorated for employees working less than twelve months.

VACATION - Regular full time twelve-month employees shall earn 12 days paid vacation leave for each year of service. After 5 years of service, the number of days earned increases. Vacation will be prorated for employees working less than twelve months.
