Responsibilities

Analyze security vulnerabilities to determine impact to our systems, and work with development teams to prioritize addressing known issues

Educate development teams on best practices regarding application security

Monitor our applications for new vulnerabilities as they are discovered

Communicate status and progress of our application security posture to management

Consult with developers, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience is required

Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and software development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division

The ability to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship is a requirement

Preferred

Past employment experience on one or more application development teams is strongly preferred

Knowledge of Java and RESTful services is strongly preferred

Experience with or willingness to learn Splunk strongly preferred

Experience with a modern IDE is strongly preferred

Experience with our current security tools is preferred

Familiarity with OWASP and CVEs is preferred

Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges
