Quality Technician
Wildeck, Inc is a 100% employee-owned company and the largest U.S. manufacturer of industrial steel work platforms and related products. The Quality Technician role involves inspecting materials and products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, as well as documenting and analyzing quality data.
Responsibilities
Perform inspection on raw materials, outsourced parts, in-process materials, fabricated parts and finished goods, making sure of conformance to specifications
Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits
Test finished products for paint quality and thickness, welding quality, dimensions, fit, and appearance
Conduct and document individual tool calibration and verification per company standards
Compile, interpret, and document statistical data from testing processes to either confirm compliance with established quality standards or identify deviations
Process non-conformance reports when incorrect material is received
Ensure finished product is packaged, marked, tagged and loaded correctly to minimize possible damage during transportation
Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards
Qualification
Required
Technical diploma or Associate degree in quality engineering, quality assurance, quality control or equivalent experience and education
Three to five years related experience in manufacturing which includes working in quality and/or responsibility for inspection of raw materials, parts, in-process materials and finished goods
Requires the ability to operate various tools and equipment to include micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, paint film gauge, squares, measuring tape, profile gauge, and various other precision measuring devices
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., Epicor)
Must possess strong attention to detail
Solid interpersonal relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written
Physical requirements include Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when turning parts over. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, pulling, and extended periods of standing
Preferred
Knowledge of welding and/or powder coat processes strongly preferred
Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is a plus
