Washington Gas is seeking a Manager, Income Tax Reporting to lead complex income tax accounting and compliance processes. This highly technical role involves managing tax provisioning and compliance workflows, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving process enhancements for tax reporting.

Responsibilities

Own the income tax accounting process under ASC 740 and regulatory reporting requirements
Manage tax provisioning and compliance workflows, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Review journal entries and work prepared by senior staff; approve and guide improvements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on rate case data and regulatory filings
Drive process enhancements and system optimization for tax reporting

Required

7+ years of experience in tax accounting; regulated utility experience highly desirable
Deep knowledge of ASC 740 and tax compliance
Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex scenarios
Ability to effectively evaluate multiple scenarios and to assist in implementing effective solutions to broadly defined business problems
Ability to communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organization levels
Master's degree or CPA required (CPA strongly preferred)

Experience with ERP systems (PeopleSoft) and Corptax preferred
