They are seeking a Procurement Forester / Railroad Tie Buyer responsible for providing raw material to their Bangor railway ties manufacturing facility, ensuring a continuous supply of railroad ties to meet production requirements.

Responsibilities

Provides a continuous monthly supply of railroad ties to accomplish established annual production requirements

Purchases and balances raw materials inventory to meet required production levels

Purchases crossing timbers to ensure inventory is up to desired levels

Maintains and develops new relationships with sellers of raw materials

May contact carriers to arrange transportation of purchases

Ensures proper quantity and quality of materials received to locations

Maintains contacts in the industry and related areas to develop information regarding future tie production potentials and market information on ties, , and other products. Reports findings on a regular basis

Participates and contribute to company safety program

Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Forestry plus one year of Forestry experience –or– High School diploma plus five years of Forestry experience, including timber cruising, procurement, buying, or selling

License/Certification: Driver's License

Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

Solid decision making and strong analytical skills

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
