Arizona Public Service (APS) is experiencing record growth in its Transmission sector and is seeking an experienced Transmission Overhead Engineer III/Senior to join their T&D Overhead Design team. The successful candidate will work on complex transmission projects, including upgrading existing lines and designing new EHV line projects in Arizona.

Qualification

Required

A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
Five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Engineer III
A four-year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline from an ABET-accredited institution
Eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions for Engineer Senior
Approved Engineer degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Structural
A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management

Preferred

Problem analysis/resolution techniques
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods, and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline
Experience in the energy industry or a consulting services environment
Relevant experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-TOWER, and AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Experience using RISA-3D and/or STAAD for structural analysis and design
Professional Engineer licensure
Functional understanding of AISC 'Specification for Structural Steel Buildings'
Functional understanding of ACI 318-14 'Building Code Requirements for Structural Concrete'
Functional understanding of ASCE/SEI 7 'Minimum Design Loads for buildings and Other Structures'
Functional understanding of ASCE/SEI 10 'Design of Latticed Steel Transmission Structures'
Functional understanding of ASCE/SEI 48 'Design of Steel Transmission Pole Structures'
Functional understanding of NESC, EIA, ANSI, IEEE and GO95 Codes
