Responsibilities

Responsible for the design engineering services following with Corporate Vision, Mission, and Core Values as well as Corporate ISO Systems View(s), and related professional standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives

Collaborates with more experienced engineering colleagues to prepare basic plan details and outlines, cost estimates, and perform calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of electrical equipment, components, or systems

Lays out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations for a detailed segment of a project

Prepares technical specifications for review and approval

Evaluates vendors’ bids and drawings to ensure compliance with specifications

Reviews and approves electrical design drawings for assigned segment of project

Assists with development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures when directed by Practice Technical Leader

Prepares technical reports such as life cycle cost analysis, facility conditions assessments, and other engineering guidance for clients

Performs field tests & measurements, collects field data, as necessary

Aids and support to proposal teams or proposal managers as requested

Collaborates with and supports Design Engineers / Designer I & II colleagues on their technical development and professional growth

Collaborates with field observation colleagues to perform field observations and tests, measurements, collect field data, and prepare field reports and related documentation

Other duties as assigned

Required

4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program

10+ years' related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience/advanced degree in engineering) related to electrical engineering systems in the Built Environment

Considerable experience in utilizing various computer software packages and automated electrical engineering and design equipment

Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification

Working toward Professional Engineering (PE) Registration

PE registration would be attained within the first 2 years of attaining this position level

Excellent written and verbal communication

Collaborative

Confident in preparing basic plan details and outlines, cost estimates, and performing calculations in support of broader engineering activities

Highly organized and detail oriented
