Responsibilities
Verify patients' dental insurance coverage and benefits
Communicate with insurance companies to obtain pre-authorizations for treatments
Assist patients in understanding their insurance coverage and estimated costs
Submit accurate and timely insurance claims electronically and via mail
Follow up on outstanding insurance claims, appeals, and denials
Manage Patient Balances (AR)
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental insurance policies and industry changes
Collaborate with the front desk and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient information and treatment codes
Provide excellent customer service by addressing insurance-related inquiries and concerns
Educate patients on available payment options for uncovered services
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
Proficiency in dental practice management software and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
Problem-solving skills to navigate insurance claim discrepancies and denials
High level of professionalism and a patient-centric attitude
Preferred
Previous experience as a dental insurance coordinator or in OMFS/Dental/Medical office preferred
