Responsibilities

Conduct testing and routine maintenance of substation relaying (electro-mechanical, solid state, and microprocessor types), control systems, and voltage regulation equipment

Calibrate protective relays and apply relay settings according to standards and operational requirements

Program Load Tap Changing (LTC) and voltage regulator controllers

Perform troubleshooting and repairs on substation relays and control devices within distribution substations

Plan and execute testing activities efficiently, adhering to schedules while ensuring service continuity

Maintain accurate documentation of testing procedures, results, and equipment configurations

Qualification

Required

1-3 years commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing substation relaying and control schemes

Knowledge of 3-phase power systems, power system protection & control schemes, test equipment, and test equipment software

Skills in test equipment and tool/wiring usage, interpretation of wiring and elementary diagrams, basic test skills, and basic PC skills

Ability to quickly learn and apply test procedures for various types of substation equipment

Education: Bachelor of Electrical Technology (BET) or Associate of Electrical Technology (AET)

Preferred

Experience in SCADA, Fault Data, Sequence of Events Recorder (SER), and Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing
