Principal Program Manager--Remote/Hybrid

The Principal Program Manager, NPD is responsible for driving program execution and development efforts to ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements and follow company processes.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute high complex, large-scale internal and external NPD programs (made up of multi-functional projects with distinct goals)
Prepare and maintain Design History File (DHF) and always ensure readiness and availability for internal and external, scheduled and unscheduled audits. Participate in audits as required
Lead the Core Team in the development of a program charter, objectives, program plan and schedule for assigned programs
Develop and manage budgets for the program including resource loading, external expenses, and capital requirements
Identify and assess areas of risk, escalate issues in a timely manner, and collaboratively develop and deploy solutions proactively
Assess program health and identify opportunities for program change proactively; implement and manage changes and interventions to achieve timely program outputs
Manage program-related actions and deliverable, holding team members and functional manager accountable for completion
Create, align and provide regular project updates (written and verbal) to appropriate stakeholders and relevant management board; create presentations, dashboards and executive summaries, both scheduled and ad-hoc
Conduct highly effective cross-functional team meetings to ensure accountability and milestone achievements; create agendas and publish minutes/actions
Build team ownership and commitment to project and business plans and define program milestones, deliverable, and associated resource requirements
Proactively manage performance issues and conflicts within project team; work to resolve these issues in alignment with functional management
Provide input to functional leaders on team member performance and functional management support
Cultivate a team culture of continuous improvement and teamwork that strives to improve in quality, safety, delivery and cost
Actively build and foster collaborative relationships across all levels to improve overall outcomes and timely program execution
May perform other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's Level of Degree in the technical field of study
8 years of demonstrated experience in Class 3 medical device industry experience in the medical field, international experience required
10 years of demonstrated experience preferably in R&D, engineering, program management, or manufacturing operations role, interfacing with new product development
8 years of demonstrated experience successfully managing large technically complex new product development programs
Experience with applicable FDA guidance, ISO 13485 regulations, and applicable industry standards
PMP Certification Required
Effectively demonstrated planning and organizational skills with background and experience in project management principles, practices, techniques and tools
Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and drive for results
Ability to work in an environment with competing priorities, highly effective at dealing with change and ambiguity as business needs shift, responding well under pressure and demonstrating flexibility while ensuring compliance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to be comfortable and adaptable presenting to different audiences and levels of the organization – including executive management teams
Strong leadership skills and the ability to operate highly effectively in a team environment
Excellent group facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to expertly analyze complex programs, interpret operational needs, develop integrated, creative solutions and to implement these solutions
Experience with and/or training in change management
Strong background in AGILE methodologies and development lifecycles
Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, or similar project management tools
Proficient in the following computer software applications: MS Project, Jira, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Word
Exceptional interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to effectively communicate both internally and externally
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Preferred

MS or MBA preferred
Six Sigma and/or Agile PP certification preferred
Formal training in program management completed
Familiarity with Cloud-based solutions, SAAS or enterprise software is a strong plus
