Tempur Sealy is a leading designer, manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of bedding products worldwide. The Senior Accountant in Payroll Accounting will lead accounting activities, ensure compliance with GAAP, and collaborate with various departments to improve payroll processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the completion of monthly and quarterly accounting activities within payroll accounting in support of multiple entities/pay groups

Perform internal controls across multiple entities

Analyze salary, wage, taxes, and benefits-related expenses and forecasted balances

Lead work regarding appropriate general ledger coding in the payroll system to ensure that balances reported are in compliance with GAAP and company policy

Participate in various projects related to payroll accounting processes and systems

Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Human Resources, Operations, Finance, Tax, and Legal, as well as external partners, to support initiatives, ensure accuracy, and resolve inquiries in a timely and effective manner

Identify ways to develop and implement best practices to improve existing processes, accuracy of accrual and payment calculations and reduce errors and inquiries

Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

Prepare documentation to assist internal and external auditors

Support management through ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as assigned

Some late nights and weekends may be required

Perform other duties as assigned
