Software Engineer, Integration & System Validation (Starlink - Direct To Cell)
SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars, and they are seeking a Software Engineer for Integration & System Validation for their Starlink Direct to Cell program. Responsibilities
Collaborate with developers on new 4G and 5G cellular features and create automated tests to verify functionality and performance
Support integration and interoperability lab testing and field trials
Analyze and optimize new cellular features to improve network performance and reliability
Develop modular test software frameworks and integrate cellular and satellite hardware for the development and verification of RAN software and hardware
Maintain and troubleshoot automation lab infrastructure and work with partner teams to resolve failures
Build tools and dashboards to provide insight into network performance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree
Experience with Linux
Experience in Python, and/or other scripting languages
Experience with VCS (Git)
Experience working with REST APIs
Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed
Preferred
Experience troubleshooting interactions between software and hardware such as network devices and lab instrumentation
Experience with configuration management, version control software, continuous integration, and agile development
Experience with cellular networks technologies (4G, 5G) and debugging issues using tools such as Wireshark, QXDM, or XCAL
Experience with device and interoperability certification testing and/or supporting new product introduction (NPI)
Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment that includes working with changing needs and requirements
