Responsibilities

Install and manage Linux server hardware, operating systems, and software
Perform software upgrades, patching, and system maintenance on Linux systems
Troubleshoot issues and apply security policies specific to Linux environments
Conduct information assurance testing and vulnerability mitigation for Linux systems
Maintain data storage and monitor server operations
Manage backup systems and provide Tier 2 support to the IT Service Desk
Document processes and ensure compliance with organizational policies
Provide remote support for systems across multiple locations

Required

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree and a minimum 3 years experience
Experience supporting Linux operating systems in enterprise environments
Experience managing VMWare virtual environments
Clearance: Active Top Secret
Certification: Existing DoD 8570 security certification (e.g., Security X, Security+, CISSP), or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of starting

Preferred

Familiarity with Agile tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence
Knowledge of security policies related to IT systems in secure environments, with a focus on Linux
Proficient in performing system maintenance, installations, upgrades, and backups on Linux systems
Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills across multiple sites
Ability to learn and follow documented policies and standards
Excellent customer service, communication, and process documentation skills
