Senior Software Engineer - Physics-Based Simulation (GPU)
Machina Labs is reshaping manufacturing through advanced robotics and machine learning. They are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of high-performance, GPU-based simulations that model the physical processes underlying their robotic metal forming platform.

Responsibilities
Architect and implement GPU-accelerated physics simulations of our robotic forming process
Build solvers and simulation kernels using CUDA, C++, or similar low-level tools
Collaborate closely with ML and robotics teams to ensure simulation supports real-world fidelity and integration
Drive simulation performance optimization, parallelization, and stability tuning
Contribute to long-term architecture for differentiable simulation and sim-to-real transfer and ultimately provide a robust solution for the real2sim2real challenge
Write clean, well-tested, and modular code that supports ongoing development by the broader engineering team
Qualification
Required
Strong software engineering background, ideally in simulation, modeling, or graphics
Experience developing GPU-based solvers or simulation engines (CUDA, Warp / Taichi, etc.)
Deep understanding of physics-based modeling (contact, deformation, dynamics) and deep familiarity with numerical solvers, such as the finite element method and the material point method
Proficient in C++, with strong coding and debugging skills in performance-critical environments
Extensive experience with custom simulation stacks or one or more of the following platforms (NVIDIA Omniverse, Warp / Taichi)
Masters Degree or Phd in Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math, or related STEM field
Preferred
Experience in robotics, differentiable simulation, or working with ML systems
