Responsibilities
Assist with hardware installation and repair (networking equipment, cabling, communications systems, and onboard devices)
Configure and support next-generation networking and communications devices onboard vessels
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues for our employees using a ticketing system and RMM software
Learn about current security trends and implement best practices for keeping company employees and data secure in an enterprise environment
Contribute to the behind-the-scenes work that makes us successful, such as maintaining accurate inventory and performing preventative maintenance on IT equipment
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Approximately 90% travel; primarily local and within the Greater Houston area, with some overnight stays required
Able to work 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
A positive, customer-focused mindset and a passion for hands-on learning
Must have a valid Driver's license and excellent driving record
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate in a team environment
Competency with computers, operating systems, and common software
Preferred
Experience with electrical systems and general physical/technical labor is a plus
Interest in field IT work and ability to adapt to non-traditional work settings such as towboats and dockside facilities
