Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities
Design and optimize mechanical systems, tooling, and processes for ammunition manufacturing
Develop detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software
Lead testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives for production efficiency and product reliability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, R&D) to ensure compliance with safety, military, and industry standards
Support troubleshooting on manufacturing lines and recommend engineering solutions for process and equipment issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years recent related experience
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Must possess a valid US driver's license
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required
This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies
The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen
Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education or equivalent program from an international university

Preferred
Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic knowledge of materials and ballistics preferred
Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or military standards is a plus
