Application Developer II - Business Intelligence
Delicato Family Vineyards is seeking an Application Developer II - Business Intelligence to enhance corporate applications and provide automated solutions aligned with corporate strategies. The role involves collaborating with various teams to understand reporting needs, developing BI solutions, and supporting the migration to the SAP analytics stack.

Responsibilities
Collaborates with Program Managers/Directors, Business Systems Analysts and other stakeholders to understand the requirements of the application(s)
Performs testing and maintains complex programs and reports by utilizing business requirements through specifications from IS Business Systems Analysts and various Business Process Owners
Develops a working understanding of end-to-end system behavior, including upstream and downstream dependencies, data flows, and system interactions
Writes clean, efficient, and well-documented code based on the application design
Develops and maintains unit tests to ensure code quality and functionality
Debugs and resolves application issues
Participates in integration testing to ensure compatibility with other systems
Performs analysis and optimizing application performance to improve speed and scalability
Participates in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency and maintains collaboration in agile development environments
Ensures data integrity and security within technical area of responsibility; advocates for leveraging application data in line with data governance practices
Monitors production application for errors, performance issues, and inhibitors to availability
Troubleshoots technical issues and identifies modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing business requirements; recommends system controls and protocols
Escalates issues by recognizing severity and impact on users, business processes and other systems
Provides users, team members and management with ongoing status of all activities by tracking project tasks, support requests or other activities in appropriate system(s) of record
Utilizes version control applications to organize and secure all development projects and code
Supports knowledge transfer to Technical Services team for completed projects
Provides second-level operational support for Technical Services team

Qualification
Required
Strong data modeling expertise (star schemas, calculation views, composite providers, etc.)
Solid SQL skills and understanding of data flows from SAP (ECC/S4, BW) and non-SAP sources into the analytics layer
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions
Clear communicator who can work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
Experience across the full BI project lifecycle (requirements → development → testing → deployment → support)
3+ years of hands-on BI development on a major platform (QlikSense/QlikView, Power BI, Tableau, BusinessObjects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, etc.)
BA in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in information systems or computing engineering
Good communication, analytical and organizational skills
Experience determining the explicit and implicit needs and requirements of various stakeholders
Ability to analyze and identify system issues and work towards problem resolution
Ability to engage analysts and business partners to achieve target outcomes
Intellectual curiosity with clear and logical way of approaching tasks
Able and willing to collaborate in a team as well as cross-functionally in system design and implementation
Proficient knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft applications, programming languages suited to role, and MS SQL Server queries/objects
Preferred
Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) or SAP Datasphere / Data Warehouse Cloud
Background in SAP BW, BW/4HANA, or S/4HANA embedded analytics
Experience migrating from QlikSense/QlikView to another BI platform
Familiarity with SAP HANA calculation views or Analytic Application Services (AAS)
SAC planning experience (integrated planning, value-driver trees, forecasting)
