UICGS / Bowhead Family of Companies is seeking a survey Party Chief to support survey projects at Alpine on the North-Slope of Alaska. The Party Chief will work in a collaborative field setting, conducting field surveys, gathering data, and operating survey equipment to assist in the creation of maps and construction documents.

Responsibilities

Conduct field surveys and gather data for the preparation of site plans, maps, and other documents

Determine the precise location of property boundaries, land features, and elevations

Measure distances, angles, and elevations using specialized equipment such as GPS, theodolites, and total stations

Record survey results accurately, including physical characteristics of the land, property lines, and topographical data

Analyze survey data and prepare detailed reports and drawings to support engineering, construction, or land development projects

Set up, calibrate, and maintain survey equipment in the field

Ensure all instruments are functioning properly and adjust as needed for accurate readings

Use GPS systems to position survey markers and benchmarks at designated locations

Liaise with office team and managers regarding survey findings and project requirements

Collaborate with survey technicians and assistants in the field to complete surveys efficiently

Read and interpret maps, construction plans and documents
