Responsibilities

Provide technical input and oversight for the power and thermal subsystems, ensuring the systems meet performance and safety standards
Develop and adapt modeling and simulation codes for performance assessment of laser systems
Perform data analysis and develop assessment models for these subsystems in an array of environmental and mission conditions
Conduct research in optics, fiber optics, and optical correlators
Manage project tasks, schedules, and interface with government customers and the defense community
Prepare technical reports, standard operating procedures, and other documentation related to laser system operations and performance
Support the government lead for HEL subsystems, power, and thermal subsystem support of the laser source, beam control system, and fire control/battle management
Other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Strong understanding of state-of-the-art power and thermal architectures that may support HEL prototype weapon and future HEL weapon systems
Experience in developing and maintaining system functional and logical models for HEL subsystems
Proficiency in digital engineering toolsets and integration strategies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time

Preferred

Experience with qualification processes
Familiarity with digital engineering integration strategies and non-SE toolsets
Experience with High Energy Laser systems and related technologies
