Responsibilities

Consulting with clients on data integrity, and improving data quality
Engaging clients and providing authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions
Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
Understanding our clients' unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline
At least 3 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience applying US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, Financial and Single Audit (Subpart F of the OMB Uniform Guidance) of State, Local Government, Higher Educational Institutions and Not for Profit
Pursing a CPA certification
Experience with any of the following: preparation and/or auditing of Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR), Financial audit and Single Audit for State, Local Government, Educational Institutions and Not for Profit (NFP)
Advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization (e.g., Power Pivot, Power BI , etc.)
Strong technical writing skills
A deep understanding of the objectives of compliance requirements of Federal and state grants and research related compliance requirements and control aspects applicable to state and federal grants
A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
The EY Government and Public Sector Practice's staffing model is to assign resources to projects aligned to the office within the metropolitan area you have been hired; however, in certain circumstances, travel may be required within and/or beyond your geographic region based on client and project needs. For roles within the federal practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 30% is preferred. Within the state, local and education practice, the flexibility to travel up to approximately 80% is preferred
