Sr. Application Security Engineer

SpaceX is actively developing technologies to enable human life on Mars and is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer for their Starlink project. Responsibilities

Design and build security infrastructure for Starlink.com and the Starlink mobile application
Continually audit and assess Starlink Internet infrastructure for security issues
Design security into software processes and provide developer guidance for building secure applications
Monitor bug bounty submissions and coordinate response to legitimate submissions
Build prototypes and help identify, design, and test security improvements
Further our mission of providing secure and reliable Internet to underserved communities

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science or another STEM discipline and 5+ years of professional experience in security software development; OR 7+ years of professional experience in security software development in lieu of a degree
Experience with one or more software development languages (i.e. Python, C++, Golang, C#)
Experience designing and implementing application security solutions for web and or mobile applications
Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Preferred

Experience contributing security improvements to complex systems
Track record of identifying high-impact vulnerabilities in real-world applications
Fundamental understanding of networking and network protocols
Flexibility, communicating clearly, and establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with other engineering teams
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and to learn new technologies quickly
Advanced degree in a technical or engineering discipline
