Bilingual Customer Service Representative II

City of Garland is responsible for providing administrative and business support to the EWS Department. The Bilingual Customer Service Representative II will handle customer transactions, respond to inquiries, and assist with various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

Process customer transactions utilizing specialized scale software
Accurately recording weights of incoming waste and monitoring incoming loads for unauthorized waste
Conducts charge, check and cash customer transactions
Inspects conditions in scale house and surrounding area for appearance, cleanliness, and safety
Provide entry level day-to-day administrative and business support
Respond to basic citizen inquiries through answering telephone calls, e-mails or face-to-face communication and direct calls and inquiries to appropriate personnel
Ensures customer compliance with facility rules and notifies supervisors of violations as necessary
Prepare and maintain office files, including office filing
Collect and organize data to generate reports, presentations, and assist with research and projects
Maintain department accounting records including invoices, expenses and office supply orders
May send, receive and distribute documents, including faxes and correspondence to appropriate department personnel and customers

Required

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (G.E.D.)
Up to 1 year related experience
Basic skills in PC and systems application
Good customer service and telephone etiquette skills
Good organizational skills
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to multitask
Ability to adapt to various working environments
Ability to work independently and/or in a team environment
Ability to work under close supervision
Bilingual
Valid Class C Texas driver's license

Preferred

Up to 1 year advanced study or training beyond the high school level
1-2 years administrative experience
