Responsibilities

Develop, execute and evaluate in conjunction with the ASAP Director a comprehensive recruitment strategy aimed at reaching recruitment and enrollment targets
Supervise full-time recruitment and engagement staff including serving as hiring and training manager of Student Ambassadors
Develop, manage and update communication processes using CRM systems (currently Connect) for recruitment and student enrollment progress focused on tracking applicants’ status, including newly recruited or previously enrolled ASAP students, residency, and financial aid eligibility for program enrollment
Collaborate with the ASAP Director, Associate Directors, and campus partners in the development and implementation of high impact, early engagement and co-curricular programs that deliver outcomes aligned with the program’s mission and priorities to increase persistence and retention
Manage new students through the enrollment process including invitations for advisement appointments, monitoring enrollment, and planning and managing the Summer/Winter Institute (invitations, tracking attendance, workshops, etc.)
Cultivate and manage relationships with CUNY pre-matriculation programs and build and maintain relationships with high schools, HSE programs, and college advisors to strengthen recruiting pipelines
Accurately and timely manage prospective student enrollment coding in CUNYFirst, through collaboration with the Director and Advisement Associate Directors
Lead the Special Programs joint recruitment effort through close collaboration with College Discovery and KCC FLEX and oversee the program’s social media presence and communication efforts
Foster and nurture collaborative relationships with the college's Enrollment Management and Marketing units to enhance the integration of ASAP into comprehensive campus marketing and recruiting strategies
Serve as a key representative and point of contact to represent ASAP at external college access events and related conferences, internal enrollment and student success committees, meetings, and engagement initiatives and as the primary point of contact to present on ASAP at external college access events and related conferences
Some evening and weekend hours may be required
Establishes semester block programs and manages and schedules all other academic support activities such as tutoring and workshops
Supervises planning and implementation of ASAP summer programming, including summer course taking, workshops, and the ASAP summer institute, and other special student activities
Assists Financial Aid, Registrar, and Bursar in evaluating student eligibility, finalizing registration, and verifying tuition charges
Assists the ASAP Director with required reporting and collaboration with other college units
Monitors and assesses data reports on a regular basis to ensure movement towards ASAP success benchmarks and to determine student support needs
Oversees advisement and delivery of comprehensive support services to ASAP students
Supervises professional and support staff
Performs related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in an appropriate discipline and six years related experience

Preferred

Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing students from diverse urban backgrounds
Experience with recruiting students in higher education settings, pre-enrollment advisement, developing early engagement strategies and the financial aid process
Experience managing a multi-faceted, fast paced, time-sensitive, and demanding student-focused and responsive operation serving both internal and external constituents
Strong organizational, project management, written and verbal communication, and facilitation skills
Excellent data and computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, and aptitude to learn new systems as needed; Connect and CUNYFirst experience preferred
Strong ability to communicate program requirements effectively to students
Commitment to fostering student supportive experiences/environments
Detail oriented with strong analytical, evaluation, research, writing and editing skills
Demonstrated ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, faculty and community members
Experience developing and implementing engagement activities supportive of academic and personal development as part of the college experience
Familiarity with using social media tools/analytics
One year of direct recruitment experience highly recommended
