TRAINING DEPUTY DIRECTOR

Responsibilities
You will provide staff direction and coordination of staff actions, administrative functions, and programs under the purview of the N7 Readiness and Exercises Directorate
You will plan and assign work, establish priorities, evaluate performance, and provide advice and counsel to civilian and military employees on both work and administrative matters
You will formulate project methodologies identifying the operational and analytical techniques for accomplishment of project objectives to produce explicit findings
You will act as is the NAVEUR/NAVAF and SIXTHFLT Commanders’ (Flag Officers) subject matter expert, advisor, and senior liaison to senior personnel at relevant United States Government entities on DOD and DON policy developments
You will review work products, accepting, amending, or rejecting work as appropriate, and plan work to be accomplished by the assigned area, set priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work

Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level
This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230
This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites
If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations
You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites
MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
Specialized Experience must include: 1) Identifies, analyzes and recommends solutions to complex problems, by applying management and training principles, organizational theory, and techniques of analysis and evaluation. 2) Applies and uses pertinent regulations, guidelines, and policies concerning Title 10 and joint readiness to staff boards, bureaus, centers, cells, and working groups, and to subordinate task forces and tactical units. 3) Develops and implements detailed collective training schemes and exercises based on Joint Training Management, in order to fulfill training guidance and mission requirements as outlined in CJCS and GCC-directed concept plans and orders. 4) Presenting sensitive recommendations to higher authority, using oral communications to obtain compliance with polices from subordinate activities
