Supervisory FAM/Residues Program Manager (Wildland Fire Fighter)
The USDA Forest Service is seeking a Supervisory FAM/Residues Program Manager to provide leadership and supervision to technical and professional staff within the Fire and Aviation Management program. The role includes ensuring compliance with project management procedures, managing project budgets, and serving as a technical advisor to various personnel.

Responsibilities
Coordinates Washington Office (WO) Fire and Aviation Management staff unit directives and Forest Service field unit needs with NTDP capabilities to achieve responsive and cost-effective problem-solving meeting the Chief's goals and objectives
Serves as a technical advisor and multidisciplinary advisor to NTDP, WO, and field personnel, as a project advisor to project leaders, and as a multidisciplinary project team leader
Prepares or assembles detailed project proposals and cost estimates to form an annual program of work that is responsive to FAM sponsor direction and funding
Assesses the plans and capabilities of project managers or contractors; formulates optimum approaches; monitors progress through status reports and design reviews; solves priority and workload problems
Applies the systematic application of scientific knowledge to create new or substantially improved equipment, systems, materials, processes, techniques and procedures
Plans the work to be accomplished by the unit, assigns work to employees, and establishes production or quality standards for the unit's work
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt
Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check
Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served
Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution
Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
Must be 18 years of age
This is a drug testing designated position. You will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing
Subject to one year supervisory/managerial probationary period unless prior service is creditable
Prior wildland firefighting experience is required
Specialized Experience Requirement for GW-12: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS/GW-11) in the Federal Service
Specialized Experience Requirement for GW-13: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least to the (GS/GW-12) grade level in the Federal Service
Experience performing on-the-line (Primary/Rigorous) wildland fire suppression duties as a member of an organized fire suppression crew or comparable unit
