Systems Engineer

Responsibilities
Leading the performance of day-to-day networking tasks to ensure network reliability, availability and serviceability, with minimal interruption
Monitoring enterprise-wide network systems performance and troubleshooting problem areas as needed; overseeing configuration and firmware/software process for enterprise-wide routers, switches, communications appliances and wide-area network to maintain consistent configuration
Providing support, responding to IT service desk tickets from the users, analyzing and resolving reported technical problems
Acting as a resource for the IT department, system vendors, business partners and other personnel, with problem identification and resolution, in all enterprise-wide network technologies
Leading network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software and integration testing, as well as coordinating these activities with other technology staff. Leading design and implementation projects involving next generation network technologies including communications convergence and virtualization solution delivery
Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and/or Linux servers across on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments
Evaluating the network technology architecture and developing required presentations and documentation for all technical processes (installation, network topology, troubleshooting, system shutdown and start-up processes). Responsible for maintaining documentation drawings, designs for WAN, LAN and VPN architecture enterprise-wide
Leading in design engineering of enterprise-wide network systems to provide optimized applications and communications performance transport and high-availability across AvtechTyee’s network infrastructure
Evaluating business continuity plans and implementing the operational failover, including recovery testing, of enterprise-wide network systems, as required. Reviews recovery plans routinely and assists with the execution and appropriate remedial action to address any deficiencies
Designing, implementing, maintaining and continuously improving enterprise backup and recovery solutions and manage daily backup operations with regular test restores
Qualification
Required
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
Minimum of four years' computer systems programming and integration experience
3+ years of network design, administration and maintenance in a multi-site enterprise network with Cisco and Palo Alto networking technologies
In-depth experience with switches, load-balancers, firewalls, VPN and routers, routing protocols
Advanced knowledge of enterprise wireless and cellular network technologies
Advanced knowledge of Windows Operating systems and VMware virtual infrastructure
Familiarity with Office 365 and MS Azure cloud infrastructure
Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices
Ability to create network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and CMMC cybersecurity controls
Diverse knowledge of Network hardware, software and programming principles
Proficient in at least one high level language and knowledge of assembly language is desirable
Dependable and flexible when necessary, available during after-hours for on-site support
Knowledge and experience in a professional business environment
Better than average written and spoken communication skills
Outstanding interpersonal relationship skills
Strong focus and attention to detail
Time management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex business environment

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. This position requires either a US Person (as defined in applicable export regulations) or a non-US person who is eligible to obtain required export authorization by DOH
