The Pipeline Simulation Engineer will be responsible for building, maintaining, and analyzing simulation models for fluid flow in pipelines, ensuring the accuracy of digital representations of customer assets and improving pipeline operations.

Responsibilities
Lead development of simulation models (including pumps, compressors, control values, elevation, DRA, etc) for the transient simulation of existing pipeline systems that connect to our software
Develop steady state and transient hydraulic model enhancements, and provide clear, concise inputs to the development team regarding hydraulic model extensions
Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis to ensure accurate digitization of a customer’s environment, and modeling of control components
Conduct hydraulic analysis for the development, testing, and validation of automation technologies
Collaborate with customers to accurately model fluid and mechanical properties through a range of pipeline operating scenarios
Develop equipment controls for simulation models that mimic the field PLC behavior
Use offline or online methods to tune transient hydraulic models for supporting control systems
Troubleshoot operational anomalies by replicating field events in the simulation environment to identify gaps in our software and ensure robust use case coverage
Collaborate with the customers to ensure the quality of the input data to the simulation models is accurate, complete, and robust
Continually champion and drive the automation and optimization of the hydraulic simulation modelling process
Establish best practices for simulation, optimization, and modeling
Read scripts and configuration files to provide technical expertise and guidance, and help the team support and maintain the simulation models
Define simulation model scope and estimate delivery timelines
Produce comprehensive documentation throughout the simulation model lifecycle
Qualification
Required
Technically proficient in oil and gas pipeline modeling
Experience in software development
Technical authority on hydraulic behavior
Ability to build, maintain, and analyze simulation models for fluid flow
Experience with simulation tools for digital representation of customer assets
Ability to ensure flow assurance and optimize power consumption
Experience in maintaining safety and integrity of pipeline assets
Leadership skills to blend technical expertise with team collaboration
Ability to lead development of simulation models for transient simulation
Experience in developing steady state and transient hydraulic model enhancements
Ability to perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis
Experience in conducting hydraulic analysis for automation technologies
Ability to collaborate with customers for accurate modeling of fluid and mechanical properties
Experience in developing equipment controls for simulation models
Ability to tune transient hydraulic models for control systems
Experience in troubleshooting operational anomalies in simulation environments
Ability to ensure quality of input data for simulation models
