Responsibilities
Oversee the preparation and filing of not-for-profit tax returns, including Form 990
Provide guidance and support to NFP clients regarding tax compliance and planning
Ensure adherence to federal and state tax regulations affecting not-for-profit organizations
Assist in the management of unrelated business taxable income (UBTI) issues for clients
Collaborate with clients to educate them on tax obligations and opportunities related to their tax-exempt status
Review and enhance internal controls related to tax processes and compliance for NFPs
Stay updated on changes in tax legislation affecting not-for-profit organizations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification is required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with a focus on not-for-profit organizations
Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Form 990 and other not-for-profit tax returns
Strong understanding of 501(c)(3) and other relevant tax-exempt statuses
Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills
