Responsibilities
Design bridge and structural projects under the guidance or supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer
Perform structural analysis, studies, calculations, and prepare engineering work plans in compliance with project requirements, AASHTO LRFD, and applicable engineering standards
Support civil and structural design for heavy civil construction projects involving bridges, roadway structures, culverts, retaining structures, and transportation infrastructure
Prepare drawings, technical documents, specifications, and cost estimates using AutoCAD or similar tools
Conduct quality control reviews of self-performed work to ensure accuracy and compliance
Provide technical support and coordination with internal departments, project teams, construction managers, and subcontractors
Participate in field visits, site investigations, or construction-phase support as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited Civil or Structural Engineering program
Minimum of one (1) + year of structural design experience
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate professionally with subcontractors, internal staff, and multidisciplinary project teams
Highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and good decision-making skills
Preferred
Experience designing bridges, civil structures, transportation projects and/or heavy civil infrastructure a plus
EIT certification desired; Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus
Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, MIDAS, LEAP, LARSA, SAP2000, or equivalent) is valued
