Responsibilities

Process Safety Leadership: Apply advanced technical expertise and analytical skills to implement and uphold Process Safety Management (PSM) standards in a regulated manufacturing environment
Process Optimization: Lead comprehensive troubleshooting efforts and drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and enhance operational efficiency
Innovative Problem Solving: Develop and propose creative solutions to address complex manufacturing challenges, leveraging technical knowledge and cross-functional collaboration to navigate interdependent production cycles
Mentorship and Team Development: Serve as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced colleagues, fostering skill development, facilitating consensus, and guiding team members toward shared goals
Change Management: Oversee and facilitate effective management of changes driven by unit requirements, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and operational standards
Technical Training: Lead or support the delivery of technical training programs for operators, enhancing their understanding and proficiency in process operations
Process Improvement Initiatives: Identify and initiate projects aimed at improving process performance, reliability, and efficiency, while driving measurable results

Required

Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering)

Preferred

Technical Experience: Prior experience with unit startup and commissioning activities is preferred
Industry Knowledge: 5–10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, including at least 2 years in a PSM-covered facility
Problem-Solving Methods: Experience with structured problem solving and proficient in one or more methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), DMAIC, or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
