Transportation Engineer

Responsibilities
Contribute to a wide range of engineering and planning services, including crash analyses, program management, and conceptual design reviews
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to shape safer, more inclusive transportation networks
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing guidance on State, county, and municipal projects
Conduct crash analyses and develop data-driven safety recommendations
Support and manage safety-focused programs and initiatives
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and coordination
Develop safety targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and summary reports
Contribute to Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP) activities and implementation
Review Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) assessments and performance plans
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
3–5 years of traffic engineering design experience
Strong knowledge of safety and design standards including: NJ SHSP, Highway Safety Manual (HSM), HSIP, Complete Streets, ADA Compliance, Safe System Approach, AASHTO, MUTCD, NJDOT Design Manual
Preferred
PE (Professional Engineer)
AICP (Certified Planner)
RSP (Road Safety Professional)
