Product Manager I - Data Services

Responsibilities
Thoroughly understand and advocate for solutions to customers’ problems as well as the business's goals and objectives, representing that point of view on a day-to-day basis
Own defining the problem that is to be solved; Develop and communicate business cases, vision and strategy to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company strategies and goals
Collaborate with Product Strategy and Development, Digital Product, Customer Experience, and User Experience to define and prioritize the product road map
Own the selection and prioritization of product enhancements; Ensure requests and appropriate feedback are seamlessly integrated into the product road map and development processes by playing a key role in development efforts including planning, refinement, user acceptance testing, retrospectives, sprints and scrums
Manage the implementation of product development projects with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure successful completion within appropriate budget guidelines and project timeline; Develop product line communications and drive engagement
Develop and curate new ideas, determine which ideas will achieve critical objectives and should be promoted into features, and communicate the status back to stakeholders
Review new and existing product specifications to ensure the scope of the current and future product meets strategic objectives, ensuring commercial viability
Confirm completion of product development and determine readiness for market launch, ensuring delivery of well aligned, high value solutions through use of product life cycle and agile development methodologies
Monitor key performance indicators for the product against industry leading benchmarks
Obtain market information by performing primary research with field operations and other business partners as well as reviewing secondary research materials; Identify needs by talking to customers, monitoring feedback from various listening tools and collaborating with cross-functional business partners
Analyze and define market and competitive conditions; Stay up-to-date on new technologies to best serve Product Development goals
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies
Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must reside in the St. Louis Metropolitan area
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Must have a Bachelor's Degree
4+ years experience as a Product Owner or Manager, Technical Project Manager or Business Analyst
Experience working with reporting and data visualization tools, including Looker
Familiarity with data warehouse platforms, especially Snowflake, including backend table structures and ETL processes
Strong understanding of both front-end reporting requirements and backend data architecture, with the ability to collaborate effectively with data engineering and ETL teams by documenting and translating business needs into clear requirements
Familiarity with backend-for-frontend (BFF) design patterns and their role in modern web applications
Awareness of ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., Matillion) for transforming and surfacing data to front-end systems
Understanding of API technologies, including inbound and outbound integrations used for both internal application connectivity and in B2B environments
Ability to understand trade-offs between performance, cost, and maintainability in data service design
Strong communication skills to explain backend concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to form partnerships and work collaboratively across Product Management, IT, UI/UX, and business teams
Experience leading data service initiatives for employee-facing and customer-facing digital platforms
Experience working in enterprise environments with complex legacy systems
Experience partnering with UX and front-end teams to define data contracts and service behavior
Experience navigating governance, compliance, and security requirements in data delivery
Experience collaborating with data engineering teams using Snowflake and Matillion to deliver scalable solutions
