Mid-Level Water Resources Engineer – Melbourne, Orlando, or Tampa, FL
Applied Ecology, Inc. is a small environmental consulting business seeking a highly motivated Environmental or Civil Engineer to expand their Water Resources Service Line. Responsibilities
Assists project managers and team leads to execute work involving conventional and innovative environmental and ecological engineering designs and other related infrastructure projects
Supports a variety of projects that may include planning, evaluation, design, and construction of wastewater, water resources management, and stormwater treatment systems
Performs field assessments to evaluate and document existing site-specific conditions or collect design criteria or evaluation data
Participates on interdisciplinary research teams to conduct environmental studies, permitting, and alternative analyses
Performs calculations, prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports under supervision
Checks performance or conformity with design plans and specifications through field inspection and reporting
Reviews local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Applies approved standard operating practices to field and data management practices
Writes and reviews technical reports including figures and tables
Contributes to the development of proposals and scopes of work in response to client task requests
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related water resources discipline
PE License in Florida
Five (5) years of experience in water resources engineering
Knowledge of the regulatory processes in Florida
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products
Experience with surface water, groundwater, and integrated modeling codes such as HEC-RAS, ICPR, MIKE-SHE, and/or SWMM
Solid technical writing skills and effective communication skills
Valid U.S. Driver's License and good driving record
U.S. Citizenship
Able to pass a background check
Preferred
Master's degree
Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred, MEP/Revit, and hydraulic modeling platforms
Experience with surface water, groundwater, and integrated modeling software
Experience with Green Infrastructure, Water Quality, or Coastal Resilience projects
Experience with GIS editing and data management using ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online software
Related project management and/or supervisory experience
Federal experience, including DoD experience
