Responsibilities

Leading and contributing to projects at a research center focused on understanding and developing policies that increase affordability and value in U.S. healthcare
Devise, formulate, and execute investigative protocols
Disseminate insights through publishing findings in authoritative publications and documents
Address knowledge gaps as to what policies work best to reduce healthcare costs, enhance patient well-being, and drive structural change in U.S. health care delivery
Experience leading research agendas and mentoring junior researchers
Track record of co/lead authorship of published work
Expertise in use and analysis of large datasets
Top-level experience and expertise in experimental design, statistical programming, research methods, and data analysis
Proficiency and demonstrated experience in qualitative research and quasi-experimental designs
Proficiency with open science frameworks, including understanding the need for registration of pre-analysis plans
Expertise in at least one or two statistical programming languages (e.g., R, Python, Stata, SAS, or similar)
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to work under short deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a diverse range of partners and oversee paid contractors
Excellent technical skills and the ability to work independently in technical areas
Ability to develop and expand new areas of research; must understand the purpose and reactions constituting the experiments being performed
Ability to independently conduct experiments and deviate from protocols when necessary
Understanding of general goals and objectives of experiments
Ability to accurately write, document, and report experimental data
Must be observant, self-motivated, capable of critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective time management

Required

Doctoral degree in health services research, economics, or a related discipline
Evidence of rigorous training in research
Track record of scholarly activity
Post-Doctoral Degree and 7 - 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
