Data Analytics Specialist

Responsibilities

Provides reporting, statistical analysis and visualizations that support strategic planning, student success tracking, enrollment management, accreditation, and federal and state compliance
Conducts robust statistical analysis using advanced techniques for data modeling, predictive analytics, and cluster analysis
Leads efforts in reporting and analyzing data from National Student Clearinghouse and other datasets to inform decisions pertaining to student success metrics
Publishes data visualizations related to student retention, graduation, persistence, and achievement
Provides reports related to student credit hour production for academic colleges and departments
Serves on committees related to student success as needed
Provides training and education to improve organizational data literacy and use of data

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline) with a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited universities and colleges

Preferred

Master's degree earned or in progress from an accredited institution in a relevant field
Data Science experience
Experience in higher education
Expertise using report writing software such as SQL Server Reporting Services
Expertise using SQL programming language in a SQL editor environment
Experience with student information systems like Banner or Peoplesoft
Demonstrated ability to teach and train administrators, faculty, staff, and students on subjects related to data science, analytics, and data literacy
Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis tools (such as SAS and SPSS) as well as programming languages commonly used for data analysis (including Python and R)
Demonstrated knowledge of business intelligence tools such as SAS Visual Analytics, Tableau, or Power BI
Expertise developing queries using relational databases
Demonstrated knowledge of data analytics and research principles and study design
Demonstrated ability to work on multi-functional project teams
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
