Responsibilities

Diagnose and perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs on a variety of powered industrial equipment, including Publix's lift trucks

Use hand tools as well as computerized testing equipment in order to locate and repair problems

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

Perform preventive maintenance, routinely checking items such as hydraulic fluid levels, tire pressure, the condition of the forks, drive control, steering and the brakes

Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed

Required

Be at least 18 years old (or at least 19 years old for positions in Alabama)

Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time

Ability to lift a minimum of 65 pounds

Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, and pull

Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment

Ability to read, write, and solve math problems

Successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position): Computation, Following Written Directions, Space Visualization, Mechanical Aptitude

Ability to interpret, understand, and follow instructions

Ability to generate and process work on a computerized maintenance-management system

Ability to supply and maintain hand tools to accomplish daily duties

Ability to work with little or no supervision
