Postdoctoral Researcher
Massachusetts General Hospital is a leading research institution focused on advancing women's health through innovative studies. The Postdoctoral Researcher will conduct research on the human vaginal microbiome and its impact on health, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and contributing to publications and grant applications.
Responsibilities
Designing and conducting cutting-edge research projects into microbiology, metabolomics and metabolic mechanisms, and mechanisms of cervicovaginal disease
Analyzing experimental and computational data
Collaborating with a diverse, multidisciplinary team including colleagues in the United States and across Africa
Producing high-quality publications
Assisting with grant applications
Guiding junior researchers or students through teaching and mentorship
Qualification
Required
Strong Laboratory Skills in bacteriology and/or metabolomics
Expertise in designing and conducting experiments and analyzing data as evidenced by a strong publication record
Competency in bioinformatic analysis of bacterial genomics and/or metagenomics and other complex datasets
Experience in teaching, mentoring, or guiding students and junior researchers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Doctoral degree in a relevant scientific field
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Preferred
Experience in anaerobic bacteriology and eukaryotic cell culture
