Control System Engineer
Theoris Services is assisting their client in the search for a Control Systems Engineer to support the specification, design, validation, and verification of complex control system architectures. This role focuses on software-centric control systems and is ideal for engineers experienced with high-reliability systems such as engine, HVAC, and brake systems.
Responsibilities
Specify, evaluate, and agree upon control system requirements with stakeholders
Develop and maintain system models capturing requirements validation, use cases, constraints, safety, quality, and security attributes
Allocate control system requirements to test vehicles per verification plans
Analyze control system functional behavior using modeling and simulation techniques
Develop and review control system tests to demonstrate requirement compliance
Perform targeted testing to support problem investigation, resolution, and customer issues
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand component-level functional performance
Produce technical documentation and reports detailing engineering work performed
With guidance from Control System Specialists, ensure fault detection and fault accommodation within system designs
Qualification
Required
Strong control systems engineering experience, with a software-centric focus
Experience with systems such as HVAC, engine controls, brake systems, or gas turbines
Proven experience in system requirements development
Experience with configuration management and rigorous system tracking practices
Proficiency using Cameo Systems Modeler
Ability to interpret test results and understand measurement uncertainty
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Ability to manage tasks to completion while communicating status across teams
Comfortable identifying and escalating technical risk and concerns
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Working knowledge of aircraft engine interfaces and component behavior during normal and abnormal operation
Understanding of software and hardware development constraints in regulated environments
Familiarity with multidisciplinary engineering workflows
Experience working in safety-critical or high-reliability systems
