Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize gear manufacturing processes, including machining, hobbing, grinding, and heat treat
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure quality and performance standards
Select appropriate tools, materials, and machines for gear production
Design fixtures and special tooling to support manufacturing
Stay current with industry trends, gear standards (e.g., AGMA, ISO), and emerging technologies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience in high volume gear manufacturing
Experience in generated heat treat recipes, metallurgical experience and gear design required
Solid understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and gear cutting methods
Familiarity with CNC machines, CAD/CAM software, and gear design software
