Responsibilities

Serve as a key legal partner to CLEAR’s Product, Engineering, Growth and business teams across our platform and services

Advise product and engineering teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring product features and designs comply with customer and regulator expectations and applicable laws, including privacy, consumer protection intellectual property, AI/ML use,and more

Navigate subscription frameworks, including auto renewal laws, and marketing complexity

Collaborate cross-functionally to drive CLEAR’s operational and strategic goals

Stay current on laws and regulations impacting CLEAR’s business, including data privacy, consumer protection and commercial law developments

Partner with security and privacy teams to ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global data protection laws

Advise on global expansion

Draft and update product related terms of service, privacy policy and member agreements

Be a problem-solver who understands CLEAR’s business and delivers practical, actionable advice

Required

7+ years of relevant legal experience, including a combination of law firm and in-house experience at a technology company, with at least 2 years specializing in a product counsel role in-house

Deep experience in product counseling and global privacy laws, including GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc

Strong business acumen and ability to balance risk with commercial objectives

Excellent judgment, communication, and drafting skills

Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with privacy, data protection laws a must; familiarity with identity technology issues is a plus

Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state

Product savvy legal partner. You've served as a trusted advisor to product, engineering, and security teams, and know how to translate legal requirements into actionable advice for technical teams in product and engineering throughout the product development lifecycle
