Responsibilities
Oversee and manage litigation files, ensuring timely and efficient progress of cases
Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and develop informed arguments
Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, with attention to detail and compliance
Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients during court proceedings, including jury trials
Collaborate with legal staff to maintain organized case files and facilitate effective communication
Represent clients in both State and Federal Court for motions and trials
Provide legal advice informed by the latest developments in laws and regulations
Participate in trial preparation by gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and developing case strategies
Qualification
Required
Must hold a license to practice law in South Carolina
3-7+ years of defense litigation experience
Proven expertise in defense litigation, including insurance defense and tort law
Strong skills in drafting motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
Experience conducting discovery and preparing for jury trials
Ability to represent clients in both State and Federal Court settings
Proficient in legal research tools, such as Westlaw
Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage case files and collaborate effectively
