Chord Energy is a company focused on managing mineral interests and royalty payments. The Senior Land Projects Analyst is responsible for managing unclaimed property obligations, ensuring compliance with state laws, and improving workflows within the Land department.

Responsibilities

Review state unclaimed property statutes and ensures company compliance with reporting and escheatment requirements

Prepare and file accurate and timely unclaimed property reports for multiple states

Maintain updated knowledge of evolving unclaimed property regulations in oil & gas producing states

Independently analyze revenue data and investigate owner records, title documentation, and mineral interest to resolve suspended or unclaimed accounts

Perform due diligence, including mailings and outreach, prior to remitting funds to states

Assist in developing internal controls and procedures for unclaimed property

Supporting special projects aimed at workflow improvements and modernization within the Land Teams

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

7 years of experience in oil & gas revenue, land administration, accounting, or unclaimed property

Knowledge of state unclaimed property laws and escheat processes

Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to meet deadlines

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
