Manager, Grants and Capital Assets Accounting
Seminole State College of Florida is seeking a Manager for Grants and Capital Assets Accounting to oversee the management and maintenance of the college’s fixed assets and general accounting operations. This role involves developing internal controls, managing budgets, and supervising staff while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities
Reviews, monitors, and reports on assigned funds, budget variances, and projects to ensure fiscal oversight, comprehensive fund management, and compliance with college-wide goals
Monitors, evaluates, and prepares budget amendments and reports as required by state, federal, and Board of Trustee requirements
Assists with the coordination and development of the college’s annual budget for specific funds or fund groups
Establishes and maintains internal controls in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB), Florida Statutes, and federal laws, rules, regulations in financial transactions, grants, and contracts
Supervises staff, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, training, development, scheduling and performance evaluation
Performs financial system maintenance as well as approving, auditing, and recording revenues and expenditures made against the various funds
Manages and responds to financial and programmatic audit requests and findings
Provides fiscal oversight or recording and tracking institution’s capital assets and prepares the Capital Assets section of the College’s Annual Financial Report, including the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
Oversees analysis and recommendations for disposal of fixed assets based on schedule and depreciation
Assists in the year end close by performing applicable adjustments, accruals, reclassifications, reconciliations, and audit schedules
Recommends to management any updates to accounting policies related to fixed assets and assigned funds
Prepares, reviews, and approves journal entries
Reviews and approves requisitions, purchase orders, and bills for college’s restricted funds and capital assets
Provides departmental and college-wide fiscal training
Performs other duties as may be required or assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field
Four years of professional experience in accounting
One year of experience supervising staff or leading project teams
Preferred
Experience working with fund accounting in a public, nonprofit, or higher education environment
Experience with capital asset tracking and financial audits
Experience with an enterprise financial system, such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Banner, or Workday ERP
