Purchasing Project Manager
Great Plains Manufacturing, a leading manufacturer of small agricultural and construction equipment, is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Project Manager to join their Procurement team. The role involves overseeing the procurement process for projects, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services within budget.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies for projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to identify purchasing needs and specifications
Help organize and track project milestones and deliverables across teams
Support communication between various departments (Engineering, Marketing, Supply chain, and Manufacturing) to ensure alignment on launch objectives and timelines
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms for the organization
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and monitor supplier performance
Develop and manage project budgets related to purchasing activities, tracking expenditures and variances
Conduct cost analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions
Monitor market trends and economic factors that may impact procurement activities
Generate status reports for management and stakeholders, identifying key risks, delays, and solutions
Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, contracts, and supplier performance metrics
Prepare and present procurement reports to management and project stakeholders as requested
Schedule and participate in team meetings, documenting action items and following up on progress
Continuously assess and improve purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Implement best practices in procurement and project management
Follow all Great Plains and OSHA safety regulations and wear prescribed safety and protective equipment

Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
6 months – 1 year of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on project management
Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or similar APICS certification
Proven track record of managing supply chain activities
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving activities
Proficiency in procurement software and project management tools (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, Google Drive)
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
Effective presentation skills to deliver information to a variety of audiences and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, etc
