Responsibilities

As part of a team guided by experienced Professional Engineers, grow your skills in bridge design, routine bridge inspection, and complex bridge inspection

Design concrete and steel members for a variety of bridge structures and related structural elements for both new construction and for rehabilitation

Prepare final design details and work with staff to produce final construction deliverables for a variety of bridge structures

Document and report bridge conditions for routine and complex bridge inspections in accordance with National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS)

Write reports and analyze load ratings of bridges and culverts working with DOTs, counties. and/or municipalities to assess bridge infrastructure

Required

Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program; Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply

0-4 years of professional experience with bridge design and/or inspection

Ability to work in the field as needed and to withstand high levels of physical exertion including walking, climbing, bending, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Ability and willingness to travel within Kentucky and nationwide periodically

A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history is required

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
