Engineer (PE) - Structural
Houston Engineering, Inc. is seeking a structural engineer to mentor other engineers and work on impactful projects. The role involves preparing engineering analyses, designing structural projects, managing contracts, and performing safety inspections.

Responsibilities
Prepare detailed engineering analyses, schedules, technical reports, etc
Design structural engineering projects together with CAD designers
Attend meetings and communicate with other civil engineering disciplines and outside consultants or agencies, to advance structural projects from conceptual level to final design
Manage all aspects of contract administration which includes writing, change requests, invoices, and progress payments and maintain project budget and costs
Perform in-service safety inspections and load ratings of existing bridges
Mentor and oversee the work of less experienced structural engineer team members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering, Bioproducts and Biosystem Engineering, or related Engineering field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in the design and construction of structures
ND Professional Engineer license or the ability to obtain the license within 6 months required
Strong leadership and project management skills
Working knowledge of project team roles and responsibilities
Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with groups both internally and externally
Preferred
Experience operating MicroStation OpenRoads preferred (but not required)
