Responsibilities
Perform monthly profit center analysis based on understanding of accounting principles and the business operation
Prepare month end accruals. Prepare month-end journal entries and system reconciliations. Perform monthly and annual commission analysis and reports
Verification that all collections are appropriate and perform research with benefits carriers and field consultants. Responsible for the accuracy of reporting revenue from the cash to accrual basis
Perform general ledger review and analysis
Prepare employee benefits budgets, projections and producer results. Participate in financial meetings and requests within and outside of the organization
Attend meetings, in-house training or other business events
Stay up to date on responsibilities, tasks and procedures for the Accounting department
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
Strong financial and accounting skills including the ability to analyze data and problem solve
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Ability to conduct business and perform job responsibilities with the highest level of confidentiality, discretion and trust
Exceptional organizational skills with a high attention to detail and dedication to producing an accurate and timely work product
Independent, flexible, self-starter who can multi-task and work with minimal supervision
Intermediate or higher Excel skills
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship
Preferred
Experience in the insurance industry and/or with Sagitta or other large agency management systems a plus
