Field Service Technician-C

The Field Service Technician-C will provide quality service and repair of complex airborne surveillance turrets, ensuring customer satisfaction and technical support both onsite and potentially overseas.
Responsibilities
Repair, Test and Maintain Wescam MX-Series sensor systems in accordance with pre-established processes, while adhering to customer deadlines
Understand the gimbal system, understand how all components work together including peripheral interfaces, and able to effectively troubleshoot, repair and test a failed system
Knowledge and application of troubleshooting electronics and mechanical systems, customer service skills and being a part of a motivated and diverse team
Be part of a motivated extended team that supports various U.S. Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, and DOD Military customers by repairing mission critical Wescam sensor systems
Highly developed support individual contributor. Works autonomously. May act as a mentor to lower level peers and provide guidance on tasks
Work is structured within identified boundaries and procedures. May work on assignments requiring judgment and initiative
Requires highly developed job knowledge/skills. Uses knowledge and experience to resolve technical issues
Complete all necessary service and repair documentation as well as technical trip reports
Provide Wescam Training to customers on MX sensors and operator-level maintenance procedures
All other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
4 years experience with electronic and mechanical test equipment is required
4 years experience troubleshooting and repairing problems related to product aircraft integration, electronics and mechanical systems, down to the line replaceable unit level and work with Quality & Manufacturing Engineering to take corrective actions
4 years prior FSR experience in both CONUS and OCONUS repair assignments and tasks, is desired. Equivalent military experience would be considered
2 years 'hands on' experience supporting Wescam MX-Series products: intermediate/advanced maintenance and operator skills is preferred
4 years experience with MS Office applications including Word and Excel is required as well as with specialized software test programs
4 years experience communicating clearly (written and verbal) with technical and non-technical customers (internal/external)
Possess and maintain a US Passport
Preferred
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is preferred
Special Operations, AFSOC, DOD, Airborne Law Enforcement or other similar experience is desired
Direct experience with systems integration, software, optical, and electro-mechanical systems is preferred. Previous work experience with aircraft, tower, or aerostat-based MX-Series sensor systems is highly desired
Familiarity with government contracting is preferred but not required
Previous experience communicating with contacts, within and outside the department, on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring explanation or interpretation to reach an understanding/agreement
